Best known as a recurring cast member on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” Teresa Ganzel will present the next Carson Lecture on Friday, October 6.


Ms. Ganzel’s Carson Lecture will be at 3:30 p.m. in Howell Theatre, which is located on the first floor of the Temple Building, on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus. The event is free and open to the public.


“We’re thrilled to welcome actress and comedienne Teresa Ganzel as the 2017 Carson Lecture Series guest,” said Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film Director Harris Smith. “We welcome the opportunity for our students and the Lincoln community to learn about her experiences as the Matinee Lady in the popular “Tea Time Movie” skits with Johnny Carson. We look forward to Ms. Ganzel’s interaction with our students and the continued success of the Carson Lecture Series.”


The biennial Carson Lecture Series has been created to celebrate the contributions of entertainment icon and UNL alumnus Johnny Carson.


“The Carson Lecture Series helps us celebrate Johnny's contributions to the entertainment industry,” Smith said. “The series is the vehicle for students, faculty and the general public to gain a deeper understanding of the impact Johnny Carson has had and continues to have on the entertainment industry.”


Ms. Ganzel has had numerous roles in film and television includingThree’s Company, The Toy, Movie Madness, The Love Boat, Remington Steele, The Twilight Zone, Alf, The Dave Thomas Comedy Show, Monsters Inc., Cars, WALL-E, and Toy Story 3.
